North West Periprosthetic Infection Meeting
On 19th November, Alasdair Santini attended and gave a lecture at the inaugural North West Periprosthetic Infection Meeting at the Conference Centre in Liverpool. He lectured on patient selection for hip and knee replacement with the emphasis on preventing infection in these groups of patient. The meeting was attended by over 80 orthopaedic surgeons, microbiologists and practitioners from around the north-west with a series of lectures of all aspects of arthroplasty infection covering prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The meeting was well received by all the delegates and plans are already in place for the second meeting to be held at the same venue next year.
