2016 specialist presentations
On 29th January, Alasdair Santini attended the Focus Technologies Journey Total Knee Replacement Course at Smith & Nephew’s Research Centre in York. He gave a lecture to the consultant delegates on the design changes from the Journey to the Journey II knee replacement, presenting recent data that shows significant improvement in outcome scores of the knee and reduction in post-operative patello-femoral pain as well as improvement in muscle strength. Mr Santini supervised the delegates implanting patello-femoral, unicompartmental and Journey II knee replacements before helping with a session on the Legion revision knee replacement system.
Alasdair Santini attending the annual British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK) conference in March, which this year was held at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. He and his research team presenting a series of projects will be detailed on this website shortly.

Alasdair Santini attended the Midlands Knee Controversies Meeting held in Worcester on 18th May 2016 and presented a paper on the outcome of the Journey II total knee replacement. The paper highlighted the design theory behind the replacement and his outcomes from this replacement.
