Alasdair Santini is honoured to have been elected onto the executive committee of BASK.
BASK Spring Conference in Leicester
We had a poster presentation at this years scientific conference on the medium term survival of over 1000 all-polyethylene tibial knee replacements. The seven year survival rate was 97.0% using any need for re-operation as a criteria and 98.6% when looking at loosening of the tibia. All outcome measures imposed and were maintained post-operatively.
EFORT Conference in Barcelona
Research on ‘Returning to work after a Journey II knee replacement’ was presented at the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology meeting in Barcelona, which showed a high level of patentees both returning to work and to the same level of work after a Journey II knee replacement.
At the same meeting an update on research on removing or retaining the fat pad in knee replacement surgery was presented as well as work being undertaken on outcomes in health status related deprivation indexes in revision knee surgery.
Medical Advisory Committee
Alasdair Santini has been elected chair of the MAC at Spire Liverpool Hospital for a four year spell.
